ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Alberto, I am a 27 year old Mechanical Engineer & Material Scientist with extensive research experience. I'm currently pursuing my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in materials & mechanics in the Advanced Material Processing Lab (AMPL) at San Diego State University. Here I work on powder metallurgy while coordinating a team of graduate and undergraduate students for a NSF funded project. While working at the AMPL I was also able to work on side projects for companies that required our lab services.
I have a great passion for material science and its role in progress and innovation. What really inspires me of this field is how Chemistry, Physics and Quantum Mechanics are all used to have a deeper understanding of materials and to unlock their true potential. Studying and performing research in material science not only gave me very strong knowledge of scientific principles from different disciplines perspectives, but also made me better aware of the world we live in, how everything is connected and what drives both our society and natural world.

I'm a very passionate and competitive person who is very keen in teamwork. Before starting my engineering career, I was an even planner and organizer which made me very good at public relations and keen for teamwork.

As an avid surfer and an outdoors person I am very animated by sustainability and I believe that material science will play a fundamental role in developing and implement clean, renewable technologies. Thus, my end goal as an Engineer is to create and innovate so that we, as a society, can get even one tiny bit closer to a sustainable future thanks to my contribution.
